Based in the Orlando, Florida area, we serve clients nationally with a comprehensive range of home health care services, durable medical equipment and medical supplies. We have a clinically driven model — from our 15,000+ credentialed provider network to our highly experienced clinical staff who coordinate everything related to care, medical supplies and equipment delivered in the home. We make sure the injured worker receives the right care, equipment and supplies from the right providers at the right time.
Teresa Williams, along with Vonesa Wenzel and Cindy Hailey, founded HomeCare Connect in 2011. Her responsibilities as CEO encompass budget planning and implementation and human resources along with providing clinical oversight of the company’s home health and durable medical equipment products.
Teresa developed the company’s comprehensive national home health provider network and its home health referral network.
She was a partner in Speedy Medicare Set-Asides from 2004 until its sale to Express Scripts in 2008. She continued working closely with Express Scripts through 2010 to facilitate a seamless transition of the business into its organization.
Before becoming involved in the workers’ compensation industry, Teresa was the Director of CNS Research Clinic, which conducted central nervous system drug studies. A Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW), she previously worked in hospital psychiatric settings, in both management and counseling roles.
Teresa earned her Bachelors of Sociology degree from Georgia Southern University in Statesboro, and her Masters of Social Work (MSW) from Florida State University in Tallahassee.
Vonesa Wenzel, Teresa Williams, and Cindy Hailey established HomeCare Connect in 2011. She oversees sales, marketing and product development.
By actively listening to the concerns of customers, prospects and other stakeholders, Vonesa creates services to fulfill unmet needs. She hosts roundtables with customers to learn what payers need in order to be proactive on a case and this data has laid the foundation for numerous HomeCare Connect initiatives, including its two-hour referral response guarantee, clinical involvement in referrals, a mobile app enabling providers to file reports from the field, and telehealth.
Vonesa started her career as a Sales Representative for a field case management company and became its Vice President of Sales by the age of 31. She later became a founder and partner in ZoneCare USA, a workers’ compensation transportation and translation service provider. She helped ZoneCare grow into a $30 million company before it was acquired by MSC Group in 2008.
Vonesa holds Bachelor of Science degree in Communications from Georgia Southern University in Statesboro, Georgia.
As CFO, Gail Kasmir manages HomeCare Connect’s financial operations, including financial planning, accounting and financial reporting. Her 20-plus year career encompasses diverse experience in international public accounting, as well as private industry and financial consulting, including for companies in the workers’ compensation industry.
HomeCare Connect was a client of her Orlando-based CPA practice for four years before she joined the company in 2015. She brought a strong insurance background to the position, having previously been the director of accounting and financial reporting for an insurance provider in Central Florida. She also gained accounting and compliance experience with a Securities and Exchange Commission-registered company with seven subsidiaries. Gail started her career with Ernst and Young, CPAs in Orlando.
Gail graduated summa cum laude from the University of Central Florida in Orlando with a Bachelor of Science degree in Business Administration-Accounting. She is a licensed Certified Public Accountant (CPA), Certified Fraud Examiner (CFE), Certified in Financial Forensics (CFF), and Chartered Global Management Accountant (CGMA) with the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants.
Tim Rametta oversees all aspects of HomeCare Connect’s information technology infrastructure, including its CareLink enterprise web application. He also monitors and manages the company’s cloud infrastructure and ensures continued SOC2 security audit compliance.
His information technology career spans 19 years in various application development, infrastructure/database management, and leadership roles. Before joining HomeCare Connect, he served as Executive Vice President of Information Technology for TechHealth.
Tim received a Bachelor’s of Science in Management Information Systems, graduating with honors from the University of South Florida (USF) in Tampa. He also earned his Master’s in Business Administration from USF in 2002.
Cindy Hailey markets HomeCare Connect’s services to regional and national employers and is responsible for account management. She has more than 15 years of experience in the workers’ compensation industry with expertise in home health, DME and pharmacy services.
Before helping to establish HomeCare Connect in 2011, she served as Regional Account and Marketing Manager for ZoneCare USA, which provided workers’ compensation transportation and translation services nationally before its sale in 2008.
A graduate of Georgia Southern University in Statesboro, Cindy holds a Bachelor’s of Science degree in Business Administration with a concentration in marketing. She is a member of the Risk & Insurance Management Society, the Self-Insurance Institute of America, Midsouth Workers’ Compensation Association, CEU Institute, and several state self-insurance and claims associations.
As Executive Vice President of Sales at HomeCare Connect, Richard Montgomery is responsible for the overall strategic, organic growth of the company. His 25+ year career in sales and marketing for workers’ compensation companies includes business development positions with such companies as Select Medical Corporation, CorVel and Concentra Managed Care. His knowledge and experience earned him an appointment to the Georgia State Board of Workers’ Compensation Medical Committee.
Just prior to joining HomeCare Connect, Richard was the Director of Marketing/Business Development for Peachtree Spine Physicians in Atlanta, Georgia, where he implemented and managed a workers’ compensation department. He was in corporate management in the banking industry before entering the workers’ compensation field.
Richard graduated from The Florida State University in Tallahassee where he earned his Bachelors of Science degree in Business Administration with an emphasis in management.
Ivan Castro, MD oversees HomeCare Connect’s clinical programs and clinical staff, working directly with treating physicians as needed to obtain the best medical outcomes for injured workers.
Board Certified in Internal Medicine, Dr. Castro has been treating workplace injuries and implementing wellness programs for more than 20 years and maintains a private practice in Winter Park, Florida.
Dr. Castro graduated from Dartmouth College in Hanover, New Hampshire and earned his medical degree from the University of Illinois College of Medicine at Peoria, Illinois. He conducted his residency in internal medicine at Kaiser Permanent Medical Center in Santa Clara, California. Dr. Castro, who is fluent in English and Spanish, maintains a private practice in Winter Park, Florida.
